Hi Adam, I just want to know your opinion on the new connects policy on Upwork. Do you think it will benefit top rated freelancers? Because for now, I don’t see positive results or influence. Thanks!

This has been a hot topic lately, because they’re getting so much blow back. 

On a personal level, I don’t mind it.  I like how in theory there will be less competition, but to be honest, most of my gigs are through invite anyway.

I never really used my connects, unless it was a slow month, or I just wanted to apply more so upwork knows I can take on more work.

I do think it will actually effect the clients though.  I see that jobs I post are getting far less applicants, even though I’ve spent probably over 100k on the system.

I am looking forward to see how it plays out…

Hi Adam, just finished your upwork course and found it very helpful.

I have one question regarding the micro-commitment with the mindmaps – just wondering about how you generally word this during that first call to sell it to them? And if they agree, is it then a 2 hour call with the client where you are making the mindmap as they are talking or do you message them to find out the assets you need for the mindmap?
